Welcome, Beta Tester!

Thank you for helping us make PixelBoop better. This guide will help you understand the app and provide valuable feedback.

How PixelBoop Works

PixelBoop turns a simple 4ร—4 pixel grid into a musical instrument. Each quadrant controls a different sound:

๐ŸŽต

Melody

Top-right quadrant

๐Ÿ”Š

Bass

Gestures

PixelBoop uses intuitive touch gestures to control sounds:

๐Ÿ‘†

Tap to Toggle

Tap any pixel to turn its sound on or off. Active pixels light up.

๐Ÿ‘‡

Hold for Presets

Press and hold on any quadrant to open the preset selector for that instrument.

Climbing Bright Pixel

When the preset menu opens, watch for the "climbing bright pixel" โ€” slide your finger up or down to browse presets, then release to select.

Testing Priorities

When testing PixelBoop, please focus on these key areas:

  1. 1
    Audio Playback
Does sound play reliably? Any glitches, clicks, or delays?
  2. 2
    Synth Presets
Do different presets load correctly? Do they sound right?
  3. 3
    Touch Gestures
Are tap and hold gestures responsive? Does preset selection work smoothly?
  4. 4
    Overall Stability
Does the app crash? Freeze? Behave unexpectedly?
